Pitbull helps to arrest robber

The KwaNonqaba Police are investigat­ing charges of attempted murder and the possession of an unlicensed firearm after an Ethiopian man was robbed in the Big Brother Cash Store in Mzola Street at 22:50 on 9 February.

The victim, a 30-yearold, was working inside the store when the suspects entered.

The victim came out from behind the counter to serve the suspects, when he was attacked. In the struggle that ensued, he was shot three times. He suffered two surface wounds on the head and one wound on the left leg.

He also suffered stab wounds to the upper back and an arm.

The owner of the shop heard the shots and went to assist the victim.

One suspect was overpowere­d with the help of a pitbull dog.

Both the suspect and victim were given medical attention on the scene.

The suspect, a 41-yearold man, is under police guard in the Mossel Bay provincial hospital.
