Great Brak Ratepayers’ Association formed

-

A ratepayers' association for Great Brak River and surrounding areas has been established.

The Ward 4 councillor, Annetjie Janse van Rensburg, and the councillor for Ward 5, Anton Dellemijn, were both present at a recent meeting and gave their support to the association.

The association will be able to play a significant role for all its ratepayers. The purpose of the Great Brak River Ratepayers' Association was explained during the meeting and all were in favour of the formation of this organisation, which together with the other three associations and the Mossel Bay Municipality, should be able to ensure a bright future for all in this part of the Southern Cape.

The purpose of the association is to be a credible and respectable institution, that addresses important issues that affect the community and its environment, with the local government.

The association aims to cultivate a proactive attitude among residents and long-term tenants, which will protect the environment, safety and tranquility of our town.

For visitors and holidaymakers, a visit to Great Brak should be a pleasant experience. An association that effectively deals with relevant issues by operating through local government channels, will prevent individuals having to shoulder issues by themselves.

The association will focus on: municipal services, relevant legislation, environmental matters, safety and security, fostering community spirit and promoting tourism in the area.

All ratepayers in Great Brak River are invited to become members. Contact Ronald Haqubord (083 307 6571) or Nico Kohne (082 929 3261) for more details.
