Revised dates for reading of water meters
Water and Electricity meter reading dates have been brought forward in November and December to make up for the holiday season and public holidays.
The Mossel Bay Municipality has replaced old water meters with new digital meters for more accurate water readings and billing.
The municipality has now nearly reached the 100% mark for actual readings, however, is still experiencing access problems at some of the properties in various areas in Mossel Bay.
"We appeal to all Mossel Bay residents and homeowners, especially the holiday makers, to allow and/or arrange access to their properties at least every six months to avoid estimations and inaccurate billing issues in future.
"Consumers should contact Ikapa Reticulation & Flow cc, the service provider appointed by Mossel Bay Municipality to do the water meter readings, to make arrangements in this regard," municipal spokesperson Colin Puren said.
Note that the water meter readings dates will be brought forward in November and December to make up for the holiday season and public holidays. As per the set reading schedule, readings will now start on the 16th of each month in Glentana and move westwards and finish in Dana Bay by the 10th of the following month.
The five different reading areas of the municipality are indicated on the map and will be read in this order:
Area 1: Glentana to Great Brak River, 16 - 19
Area 2: Great Brak River to Little Brak River (including Friemersheim), 20 - 23;
Area 3: From Little Brak River and the residential areas east and north of the industrial area (including Ruiterbos and Brandwag), 24 - 27;
Area 4: Industrial area and Mossel Bay town (including D’Almeida), 28 - 2;
Area 5: Heiderand to Vleesbaai (including KwaNonqaba, Asla Park, Herbertsdale, Buisplaas and Boggomsbaai), 3 - 10.
Alternatively, consumers can call 076 795 0096 to log readings, but only during the week the meter readers are in your area.
