It’s Movember

- Linda Sparg

Mossel Bay's Rauch Gertenbach Attorneys seem to be leading the charge in terms of companies supporting Movember this month.

Every year, as part of the Movember campaign, men grow moustaches to raise awareness of men's health issues.

Rauch Gertenbach was highly involved in recent Cansa awareness drives. It supported ladies' teas in George and Hartenbos. The company also sponsored a Cansa Relay for Life Team.

The staff at the attorney firm all wore pink on Friday, 26 October, to show their support for raising awareness of cancer.

The corporate manager at Rauch Gertenbach, Basson Piek, said: "We want to encourage other companies to support the Movember initiative. We have identified a male teenager in the region who is suffering from cancer. He is 16. Even if we can raise R15 000 or R20 000 for him, it will make a difference."

Basson said he would be sending emails out, rallying men to grow moustaches and help raise funds for Movember initiatives.

If you would like to become involved, email basson@rgprok.com.

Showing they care in another way, the firm of attorneys was praised on social media for its generous donation to firemen and victims of the fires in the Karatara and George areas.

Director of the George branch of the firm, Maryke Landman said: "We really wanted to give people what they most needed, so we donated Energade, Bar Ones, apples, bananas and eyedrops.

"It was wonderful to see how people contributed. They came with bakkie loads of supplies."
