Family’s double win

-

Two members of a family in Mossel Bay won at the Miss and Mr Western Cape beauty pageant held on Saturday, 27 October in Franschhoek.

Much charity work was required to be done before taking part.

Anna-Maria Adreani (16) from Point High School was crowned Teen Miss Western Cape 2019 second princess on Saturday.

She also won the senior personality award and the debutant award.

Anna-Maria said: "It's not the beauty, but the big loving heart and inspiration to help others in need. The crown doesn't make you the person you should be and all who were on the stage that day, are the most beautiful people. "I loved being there, met amazing loving souls and enjoyed every single moment of it."

Her nephew, Stefano Buitendag (5), won the Tiny Mr Western Cape 2019 title.

He attends Kids Kingdom Pre-school. Stefano sold 511 lollipops to raise money for charity and he impressed on the day with his performance on stage.

This is his second title achievement in the past three months. He won in the Eden district beauty pageant recently.

Stefano said: "Thank you to everyone for the support, love and care and to the best principal in the world - Georgia - and her husband, Uncle Mario.

He also thanked all at Kids Kingdom who assisted in the lollipop sale and all sponsors who helped with prizes for the raffle tickets and "everyone who stood there for me".

Stefano's mom, Dessi, says: "As my birthday is approaching, the best prebirthday gift for me was seeing my little guy going through that and smiling all the way to the end. I am very proud of him."
