KwaZulu-Natal vs SWD Pienaar bats SWD to victory
A brilliant century by SWD’s premier batsman, Obus Pienaar, secured SWD a comprehensive 67-run victory in the Cricket South Africa limited over competition match against KwaZulu-Natal Inland in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday, 4 November.
After a slow start by SWD - 95/4 (after 23 overs) - Pienaar posted 141 runs not out from 126 balls and hit two sixes and
18 fours.
He received good support from Brendon
Louw (32) and
Letlotle Sesele
(31) as SWD ended at 267/7.
Pienaar and
Louw shared a 70-run partnership for the fifth wicket and Pienaar was also involved in an unbroken partnership of
59 runs with Stefan Tait for the eighth wicket
The SWD bowling attack, who were without
Marcello Piedt who had to withdraw because of an injury, still responded to the task and dismissed the home side for 197.
Stefan Tait (4/43) again bagged four wickets against Boland the previous weekend but he received valuable support from Hershell America (3/40).
