Movies at Monroe Theatre
A lazy Friday is in store with the screening of Love Me Tender, starring Elvis Presley, today, 30 November at 17:00.
Next week the Monroe Theatre starts its bumper festive Season Flick Festival with four movie screenings. All screenings start at 18:30.
First up, on 4 December, is Quartet, with a stunning cast including Billy Connolly and Maggy Smith. Four aged opera singers prepare for a final show.
This is followed by Kelly's Heroes on 6 December. See all the WW2 suspense with Donald Sutherland and Telly Savalas, Clint Eastwood and Donald Sutherland.
Maggy Smith stars with Kevin Kline in My Old Lady, to be screened on 7 December. Henry Fonda stars in a John Steinbeck classic, The Grapes of Wrath, at the Monroe Theatre on 8 December. Enquiries can be made to Joan (082 415 9588).
Some of Mossel Bay's best voices will be on stage at the Gospel Extravaganza on 2 December at the D'Almeida Civic Hall from 19:00. The well-known author and poet Chillea Bruintjies will be the master of ceremonies and performers will include Witness, Crowned, Shaun Sinkfontein, Marcha Lombard, Renique Lottering, Manday Jansen, Keenan Daniels and many more. The entry fees are R50 for adults and R30 for children.
Christmas and all that jazz
Two of the most sought-after local jazz bands are putting on a show on 23 December in the Mossel Bay Town Hall. The theme is I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. Christmas Concert in December
Clinton Petersen and friends will be hosting a delightful Christmas Concert on 23 December at Benevolent Park. The event starts at 15:00 and ends at 17:00.
