Mo­vies at Mon­roe T­he­a­t­re

A la­zy F­ri­day is in sto­re with the scree­n­ing of Lo­ve Me Ten­der, star­ring El­vis P­res­ley, to­day, 30 No­vem­ber at 17:00.

Next week the Mon­roe T­he­a­t­re starts its bum­per fes­ti­ve Se­a­son F­lick Fe­s­ti­val with four mo­vie scree­n­ings. All scree­n­ings start at 18:30.

First up, on 4 De­cem­ber, is Qu­ar­tet, with a stun­ning cast in­clu­ding Bil­ly Con­nol­ly and Mag­gy S­mith. Four a­ged o­pe­ra sin­gers pre­pa­re for a fi­nal show.

T­his is fol­lo­wed by Kel­ly's He­roes on 6 De­cem­ber. See all the WW2 sus­pen­se with Do­nald Sut­her­land and Tel­ly Sa­va­las, C­lint Eas­t­wood and Do­nald Sut­her­land.

Mag­gy S­mith stars with Ke­vin K­li­ne in My Old La­dy, to be screen­ed on 7 De­cem­ber. Hen­ry Fon­da stars in a John S­tein­beck clas­sic, The Gra­pes of Wrath, at the Mon­roe T­he­a­t­re on 8 De­cem­ber. En­qui­ries can be ma­de to Jo­an (082 415 9588).

Gospel Ex­tra­va­gan­za

So­me of Mos­sel Bay's be­st voi­ces will be on sta­ge at the Gospel Ex­tra­va­gan­za on 2 De­cem­ber at the D'Al­mei­da Ci­vic Hall from 19:00. The well-kno­wn aut­hor and poet C­hil­lea Bruin­tjies will be the mas­ter of ce­re­mo­nies and per­for­mers will in­clu­de Wit­ness, Cro­w­ned, S­haun Sink­fon­tein, Mar­cha Lom­bard, Re­ni­que Lot­te­ring, Man­day Jan­sen, Keen­an Da­niels and ma­ny mo­re. The en­try fees are R50 for a­dults and R30 for child­ren.

Chris­t­mas and all t­hat jazz

Two of the most soug­ht-af­ter lo­cal jazz bands are put­ting on a show on 23 De­cem­ber in the Mos­sel Bay To­wn Hall. The the­me is I'm dre­a­ming of a whi­te Chris­t­mas. Co­me, en­joy G Mi­nor and O­ce­an B­ree­ze at their fi­nest from 18:00 on­wards. En­qui­ries can be ma­de to Ju­li­an (076 083 0056) and Ig­na­cia (076 083 0056).

Chris­t­mas Con­cert in De­cem­ber

C­lin­ton Pe­ter­sen and friends will be hos­ting a de­lig­ht­ful Chris­t­mas Con­cert on 23 De­cem­ber at Be­ne­vo­lent Park. The e­vent starts at 15:00 and ends at 17:00.
