NSRI New Y­e­ar be­ach run

The Na­ti­o­nal Sea Res­cue In­s­ti­tu­te an­nu­al New Y­e­ar be­ach run was i­ni­ti­a­ted by one of the Mos­sel Bay NSRI S­ta­ti­on crew mem­bers, the la­te John De­a­con, du­ring 2000 w­hen he was al­so ser­ving as de­pu­ty s­ta­ti­on com­man­der.

The run was star­ted to rai­se funds for the Mos­sel Bay NSRI, but al­so ser­ves as an a­wa­re­ness cam­paign for the NSRI.

The first New Y­e­ar be­ach run took pla­ce on 1 Ja­nu­a­ry 2001.

“T­his is es­sen­ti­al­ly a fun e­vent to start the New Y­e­ar on a fresh and po­si­ti­ve no­te, gi­ving the run­ner a chan­ce to re­flect on the y­e­ar past and the one t­hat lies a­he­ad.”

The 2019 be­ach run will, ho­we­ver, ta­ke pla­ce at 08:00 on Sa­tur­day, 5 Ja­nu­a­ry and not on 1 Ja­nu­a­ry as u­su­al.

Re­gis­tra­ti­on will start at 07:00 at the Har­ten­bos Draw­wers clubhou­se at Di­as be­ach.
