Movies at Monroe Theatre

The Festive Season Film Festival is in full swing at the Monroe Theatre. Tomorrow,

15 December, The Turning Point is screened (Anne Bancroft, Mikhail Baryshniko­v). The movie magic continues next week week with Who Was That Lady (Dean Martin and Tony Curtis) on 17 December. The adorable Mediterran­eo, a sweet romantic movie with a big message is screened on 18 December. Next up is, Revolution­ary Road (Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio) on 19 December. First of the acclaimed colours trilogy, Three Colours Blue, is screened on 20 December. All screenings start at 18:30. Enquiries can be made to Joan (082 415 9588).

Cabaret at the Monroe Theatre

The Monroe Theatre hosts its Voorjaarsf­ees in December for the sixth year running. First up is a delightful comedy cabaret, Passion Paella, with raconteur Cornelle Carstens, featuring captivatin­g stories and Flamenco dancing on Friday, 14 December at 19:00.

DisNell@s, a deligthful cabaret starring diva Petronel Baard and Cornelle Carstens, takes place at the Monroe on 21 and 28 December at 19:00, featuring song, dance and lots of drama. For more informatio­n, contact Joan (082 415 9588).

Christmas and all that jazz

Two of the most sought after local jazz bands are putting on a show on 23 December in the Mossel Bay Town Hall. The theme is I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
