Movies at Monroe

It is still all entertainment at the Monroe Theatre, although the holiday has drawn to a close.

After a week filled with delightful flicks, the Monroe Theatre concludes its festive season flick festival this week with the screening of the thrilling true story, Escape from Alcatraz today, Friday 11 January. It features a stellar cast including Clint Eastwood.

The screening is at 18:30. On Saturday, 12 January, Shirley McLaine burns up the screen in Sweet Charity, which starts at 18:30.

Next Thursday, 17 January at 18:30, award-winning director's Ingmar Bergman's Summer Interlude is screened. A lonely woman recalls her first love thirteen years prior during a brief summer vacation. On Friday, 18 January at 17:00 Mildred Pierce is screened featuring the legendary Joan Crawford as a woman on a mission. For more information, contact Joan (082 415 9588).
