Vuyolwethu (Vuyo) Mfumbe was born in Mossel Bay and raised in KwaNonqaba.

He won Mr Photogenic in 2010 and in 2011 Mr Western Cape in Cape Town, run by Role Models South Africa.

Currently, he works as a guest relations officer and host at the Garden Route Casino. He is also well known as a charity worker and youth developer.

Vuyo is currently the reigning Mr Eden 2019, run by Crawlers & Crowns. He is among the top five finalists of the prestigiou­s national pageant, Mr Commonweal­th South Africa 2019.

This week he is attending a finalists' workshop in Johannesbu­rg at the City Lodge, Morningsid­e, Sandton. "Thank you to my sponsor, Garden Route Casino. Last week I hosted my charity day at CEF shelter for abused women and children in Mossel Bay.

"My campaign is 'Say no gender based violence # Every child is my child.' I believe it takes a village to raise a child."

Vuyo also did charity work by donating school shoes and socks to three local schools. "I am passionate about youth and community developmen­t and the Mr Commonweal­th pageant is a great platform for me to bring wealth in my community."

The public can vote for Vuyo by smsing "Vote Vuyo" to 39945. Each sms cost R3. Anyone can vote as many times as they like. Voting closes on the day of the crowning event, 16 August. The event will be hosted by Commonweal­th Pageants South Africa at Gold Reef Casino.
