Remembrance Day commemorated
On Sunday, 15 November, military veterans, members of the NSRI and members of the public congregated at the Cenotaph at The Point in Mossel Bay to pay their respects to the fallen in armed conflicts such as the first and second World Wars, the Bush War and other.
In South Africa, Remembrance Day or Poppy Day is commemorated on the closest Sunday to 11 November each year.
As per tradition, the MOTHs (Memorable Order of Tin Hats) of the Blaize Away Shellhole in Mossel Bay arranged the event.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions on the number of people at gatherings, the event was not widely publicised for participation of the broader public as in previous years.
