You do not have to fight your battles alone

-

Do you ever feel as if there is no hope? That you are alone, that you cannot seem to find the strength to face this mountain in front of you?

I have had a few lows, and they were hard. But somehow, I am still here, proof that life goes on. When you choose it.

I think what got me through some troublesome times was my being honest with myself, and with God.

I somehow found strength in admitting to myself, and to God, that I was weak and needed His help. There is something in being vulnerable before God. Of course, being vulnerable is hard for us. It means stepping down from your pride and being humble.

Time and time again, when I allowed myself to be vulnerable in front of God, He would come and pick me up, take me by the hand and lead me. God would even meet me halfway, no matter where I am.

It kind of reminds me of the story of a son who took his father’s money and left. He messed up and when he came back home his father welcomed him with open arms. What a Father we have!

I have come to know another side of God. God is not a story people made up to comfort people or to scare people into doing “right things”, but rather God is there when we are in our lowest lows. He wants to help and ease our pain. We just need to allow Him to.

It is okay to not have it all together. God does not care if you have cracks, because He is so amazing. He comes and puts you back together piece by piece. He is far more capable of healing your wounds than what you think, even the ones you think are beyond restoration.

Do you think God does not care when you show Him your weaknesses, your shame, your cracks, and bad choices? That is the biggest lie the enemy can tell you. Why? Because only you can keep yourself from the presence of God. The son did not have to return to his father, but he did, and he was welcomed with open arms. God just wants your honesty. You need to trust God and know He wants to help you. Like a parent who loves a child, so God loves us, and more.

There is a verse, Matthew 6:26: Jesus talks about the birds in the sky, that they do not store food, yet the Father keeps feeding them. How much more valuable are we than birds! If God provides food and shelter for birds. How much more for us – who experience God’s love firsthand? The Father wants you to climb on His lap. He wants to cradle you, for you are so precious to Him. (Read Matthew 6:2534.)

Whatever you are facing, you are not alone and there is hope. You have one friend like no other. God never disappoints, never gives up and never leaves you. Please reach out to someone. Talking to people helps. Connect with people where they can help and support you. You do not have to fight this battle alone.
