Mossel Bay man excels at Tug of War World Champs
Mossel Bay's Elandre Kemp competed in the Outdoor Tug of War World Championships in Holten, The Netherlands, last weekend and did extremely well.
He is a member of the Swellendam tug of war club and the club's U23 560kg mixed team - men and women - won a bronze medal in the open championships.
In the closed championships, in which countries compete against one another, the South African 560kg mixed team in which Elandre pulled, came fourth.
Then Kemp was asked if he could pull for the 600kg U23 team, so he notified his coach and removed himself from the senior men's 560kg team and joined the U23 team.
The U23 team then came third in the competition.
