Strong focus on charity work
This past weekend the annual Teen/Miss/ Mrs/Mr Eden SA pageant took place at the Garden Route Casino's, Bravo Lounge.
It was hosted by Deon Lensing, Sir South Africa 2023 and Sir Universe South Africa 2023 and Karen Gray, owner/director of Crawlers & Crowns Model academy.
Gray owns the Eden SA pageants, the Eden SA Top Model and Photo model competitions and she is a national scout for Opulent Models SA and a Talent America/ Pageants America scout.
She said, regarding the Eden SA pageant last weekend: "We had the privilege to get to know a wonderful group of contestants with whom we look forward to spending time this coming year.
"They will be joining us in various community projects. We not only crowned our top four in our various categories, but we also scouted the top two in every category to represent South Africa in America at the Talent/Pageants America competitions in 2024."
All contestants in first and second place in any of the competitions and pageants have automatic entry in Talent America for the online and live competitions.
Anyone who wants a chance to be part of the national team to represent South Africa in America then enters any of the Crawler & Crowns competitions or pageants.
"It is our belief you should always give back to the community, therefore we always request the contestants to bring cat and dog food that we distribute where needed," says
Gray.
She also crowned the Charity Champion winners in the teen category, the Mr category and the Mrs category as well as the best personality, best dressed, best ramp and overall winner.
The Charity Champion pageant was launched last year.
"We requested charities' needs lists and gave out these lists to our contestants to collect what was required. The winners will join the various charities when they go out into the community to distribute the goods."
"This is done as to instil social responsibility in our contestants," concluded Gray.
