Models cheer up rainy day

-

Clouds and cold weather did not prevent the girls of Ace Models MossGeorge surprising the public at Hartenbos Seefront with a dance and modelling flash mob on Saturday, 16 March.

Wikipedia notes that a flash mob is a group of people that assembles suddenly in a public place, performs for a brief time, then quickly disperses, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire or artistic expression.

Ace Models MossGeorge had an open day and meet and greet at the Seefront, with the girls wearing their crowns and sashes, taking photographs and posing as mannequins in store windows. Spectators could meet the Ace Models MossGeorge director Elani Pretorius, MoDancè coach Nikita van Zyl and assistant and male coach Alexis Smith.

Ouma Net designs owner Marinette van der Merwe also showcased her designs, from pageant dresses and party wear to dance costumes.

Elani feels that every class, event and situation is a learning opportunity for the young ladies. She believes it is important to see the lesson in every day and teach children to always see the positive and work as a team. When it started raining and clouds came over the sea, this was no exception. The girls came together and started dancing and walking in the rain.

“We want to equip these young ladies by not only teaching them about modelling, pageantry and etiquette, but also building character, confidence, so they can be well-rounded young ladies, following their dreams and taking on every challenge with confidence and success,” she said.

MoDancè is focused on improving the girls' posture and ballet techniques and teaching them about rhythm and improvisation.

"We are grateful for all the support we are receiving and every parent that is part of the programme," Elani said.
