Mossel Bay gears up for festivals
The Mossel Bay area is gearing up for the Sports and Recreation Festival as well as the Arts Festival.
The meetings for both these festivals will be held in May.
Mossel Bay Municipality said it facilitates the annual Mossel Bay Sports and Recreation Festival and it established the Mossel Bay Arts Festival in 2023.
The Sports and Recreation Festival will take place for the 11th time this year. Exact dates will be confirmed and communicated soon. The Arts Festival takes place from 24 August to 24 September.
Interested organisations (music, visual art, writing and drama) are invited to the Arts Festival meeting on Thursday, 2 May, at 14:00 in the council chambers of the Mossel Bay Municipality to discuss the planning for the festival.
Mossel Bay Arts Festival
Participating organisations each arrange their own performances, exhibitions, workshops, classes, demonstrations, sales and marketing during the Mossel Bay Arts Festival.
The festival is supported and partially coordinated by the municipality, which includes the use of municipal facilities, free of charge, assistance with additional marketing of events, and other logistical support where applicable. The aim of the festival is to encourage love and appreciation for the arts, to promote art, as well as to market the town and local tourism.
