A reader shares how her husband kicked her out while she was pregnant

Move! - - CONTENTS - By Albertinah Molepo*

MY husband and I were happily married, but everything went sour when he wanted to have a child with me, but I could not conceive. I eventually fell pregnant, but it was unfortunately an etopic pregnancy, so one of my Fallopian tubes had to be surgically removed.

WE STARTED TO FIGHT

We continued struggling to conceive, with some doctors telling me I could no longer have babies. My husband and I started arguing over petty things. One day while fighting, he bumped me with his car and drove off. I was fortunately not harmed. The fighting continued, but one day I realised I had missed my period.

I FINALLY HAD A BABY

I did a home pregnancy test, which came back positive and I told my husband immediately. But he fumed and called me a liar. I showed him the test and he said I took some pregnant woman’s test and pretended it was mine. We visited a doctor, who confirmed I was two weeks pregnant, but this did not stop my husband from throwing me out of our home. I stayed with my mother, whom I did not tell the truth about why I came back home. She took care of me while I was pregnant. My husband was already staying with his new lover in our house. I gave birth to a baby boy, who looked just like my husband. When he came to visit me and the baby, he could not believe his eyes and was so ashamed.

HE LOST EVERYTHING

Karma came knocking on his door when he was arrested for having three passengers in his car who had unlicensed firearms. While on trial, he lost his job, cars and girlfriend and ended up living in an informal settlement. He was found not guilty by the court, but he had lost everything. He came back to me and I forgave him. I supported him through it all and after two years of suffering, he found a job and we are now happy. God is great. * Not her real name
