New for­mat for Bozas Cup 2018 tour­na­ment

THERE will be an ex­cit­ing new for­mat for the 2018 edi­tion of the Bozas Cup rugby tour­na­ment on Satur­day, 3 March at eShowe.

For the first time in the com­pe­ti­tion's 72- year his­tory there will be a sep­a­rate tour­na­ment for first di­vi­sion clubs run­ning par­al­lel with the tra­di­tional third di­vi­sion games.

Eight first and third di­vi­sion teams each will make up the pro­gramme which is ex­pected to kick off at 8am af­ter a com­pul­sory team man­ager meet­ing at 7.30am.

The re­sponse from first di­vi­sion clubs has been pos­i­tive with Piet Retief, Bal­lito, Drak­ens­berg and Sen­traal hav­ing al­ready com­mit­ted to the tour­na­ment.

Clubs need to reg­is­ter and pay their en­try fees as the num­ber of teams will be lim­ited and will be ac­cepted on a first come, first paid ba­sis.

Af­ter a suc­cess­ful run with Flya Sports­wear as main spon­sors, Beck Sports has been an­nounced as the new spon­sor for 2018.

There will be all the usual hap­pen­ings next to the field with food stalls and the bar of­fer­ing ice cold re­fresh­ments through­out the day.
