WITH the world’s largest jazz festival and North America’s largest film festival both taking place in Canada, it’s no wonder many celebrities are spotted there. Its film industry has been nicknamed Hollywood North, and it’s one of the friendliest around (apart from our sunny shores, of course!). But with a variety of luxurious hotels and resorts as well as incredible restaurants, it’s also known for being a top holiday and honeymoon destination. So just what do the stars get up to when they’re holidaying or honeymooning up in Canada? Well, just speaking of honeymoons puts us in mind of a certain Canada native who recently got (or will soon be getting – depending on which reports you believe) married. Twenty-fouryear-old Justin Bieber spent R71-million on a waterfront mansion near Cambridge for himself and (his new wife?) Hailey Baldwin. The new home takes up to 835 square metres and includes four bedrooms, a private gym, a three-car garage, a two-storey wine room, game room and movie theatre! And as if that’s not enough, it also has a private horse racing track and backs onto Wellington County’s Puslinch Lake. OMG!

WHERE THEY STAY

THE Thompson Hotel has been voted one of the best hotels in Canada and has a rooftop lounge and pool, and celebrities like Bradley Cooper, Kate Hudson and James Franco have been guests.

WHERE THEY SHOP

THE Holt Renfrew Centre is the name of the game when celebrities need to shop. Stars like Penelope Cruz, J.K. Simmons and Viggo Mortensen have all been seen perusing the aisles there.

WHAT THEY DRINK

THE Drake Mini Bar is decorated with rotating artist murals and tabletops designed by Rajni Perera. The dishes go perfectly with their exquisitely crafted cocktails as well as their nonalcoholic cocktail collection and electric wine list.

HOW THEY DINE

SASSAFRAZ has become legendary for its ability to remain current. The venue continues to evolve, never ceasing to impress with its style, service and, of course, food. The Frenchinspired Canadian cuisine is phenomenal, and Celebrities like Cuba Gooding Jr., Denzel Washington, Meg Ryan and Bruce Willis have been spotted there.
