Three year in a row clean audit for LNW

- Barry Viljoen

Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) achieved another unqualified audit opinion from the Auditor-General (AG) Limpopo for a third consecutive financial year.

Responding to the announcement of this achievement, the chairperson of the LNW Board, Dr Nndweleni Mphephu pointed out that most critical was the fact that the audit outcome was confirmation that LNW was progressing well as an organisation and positively so.

He added that it was an indication of the organisation heading towards obtaining a clean audit by the next financial year.

According to LNW media liaison officer Yolande Nel, Mphephu thanked team Lepelle Northern Water for the hard work and effort that went into achieving the unqualified audit, and simultaneously the interim board for having been instrumental in achieving the results.

“We are taking the baton further as a permanent board to improve going forward,” Mphephu is quoted to have said.

Mphephu emphasised that the work that had gone into obtaining the unqualified audit was part of the mandate given to LNW by the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Senzo Mchunu to clean up and change the image of the organisation and that it further confirmed the move towards the ultimate goal of achieving a clean audit in the next financial year.

Nel indicated that the latest annual report of the organisation can be accessed online.
