Shot for shot at league
Limpopo Province Practical Shooting Association (LPPSA) members sharpened their shooting skills at the handgun league held at the Polokwane shooting range on January 15.
The event formed part of the association’s preparation for their handgun national championship, which is scheduled for February 12-13 in Polokwane. The event saw 52 shooters of the association exchange knowledge and skills in safe gun handling, accuracy, power, and speed. They also shot at moving targets, targets that react when it’s hit, penalty targets and partially covered targets.

(senior men, open division), Dion du Bruyn (senior men, classic), JM Myburg (open men, production), Sakkie van Wyk (senior men, pcc), Gerrit Dokter (super senior men, classic), Jane van Wyk (ladies production), Dawie Oosthuyzen (open men, standard), Marita
Botha (ladies, production optics), Thomas Grobler (senior men, production), Org van Zyl (super senior men, production), Rika van Zyl (super senior ladies, production optics) and Agna Becker (junior, production).
The association also rewarded their top junior shooters, Benno Kotze and Llewellyn Wright, for their stellar performances at their annual prize giving ceremony which was held in Polokwane the same day.
Benno was bestowed with Best Junior Production Shooter of 2021 and Best Junior Production Shooter at LPPSA Closed Championship awards. Llewellyn walked away with the Best PCC Junior, Super Junior Shooter at the LPPSA Closed Championship and Best Junior, Super Handgun and PCC Shooter of 2021 awards. Rudi Kuschke, Herman Joubert and Santie Joubert were awarded their first Limpopo colours.
Rudi was recognised for his efforts and excellence in the open men, classic category and Herman in senior men, production category while Santie was praised in the ladies, production category.
