Gold and silver medals for Lim ringtennis champs

The South African Ringtennis Championsh­ips for mixed doubles were held at the local courts on February 12.

Ten players from the Polokwane club participat­ed and collected one gold and two silver medals.

The game is played with a circular rubber ring r thrown over a net separating the two players who each anticipate­s to catch and return the ring into the opponent’s court. If the ring hits the ground within the target area, the server wins the point, and if the ring hits the ground out of the target area, the th opposing side wins the point.

Limpopo players Richter van Tonder and Emelia E Olley won the senior players round while Evert and Heleen Potgieter won the silver medal in the veteran class.

The club’s medal tally was completed with another silver medal for Gideon Manders and Ilze Olley in the u/13 age category.
