Building a legacy with a hint of spice

- Miranda Chauke

Brown Seleme is hungry for success, which is why it is not unusual to find him marketing his products on the streets of Polokwane.

Brown has a wide range of hot sauces, atchar pastes and fast foods under his name, and the 28-year-old is the man behind Brown Hot Sauce, ‘a sauce at the lips of everyone who tastes it’.

The hot sauce falls under his company, Brown’s Food and Beverages. He told the Polokwane Observer that his journey began three years ago as a result of his passion for spicy food. “I decided to create my own hot sauce after conducting research to find the perfect combination of flavours and consistency. This journey was also a means for me to make an extra income. Depending on one salary is dangerous in these economic times,” he said.

Brown shared that his biggest mission in life is personal growth and to improve his life. He is aware that there is a long road ahead and he is thankful for the lessons learnt throughout the years.

“They’ve made me smarter and better. I look forward to securing more jobs, and creating employment for the youth,” he said. His message to other entrepreneurs is to stay hungry. “In order to be the best, you have to challenge the best,” he added.
