- Anne Mametja

With #ScreenHerSaveHer, Mall of the North in partnership with Keystone Medical (KSM) made women’s lives in Polokwane much easier.

The partnership saw a mobile clinic brought to the mall to enable women omen to get screened for breast cancer.

The all-women-staff mobile clinic inic was stationed in the parking area from m April 6 - 14 where women came in numbers umbers to be screened.

They were welcomed by friendly dly KSM receptionist Jessica Chetty, and were then met by mammographers Surika Zeelie and Magda Kriek, who performed ed mammograms with the use of a full field digital mammography unit.

The mammographers assured and advised patients that all their information will be kept safe and confidential. Patients were informed that early breast cancer detection saves lives and leads to better treatment options and outcomes.

Once the mammogram was complete, the patient was then taken through the routine supplementary breast ultrasound examination.

Anything of concern was thoroughly explained to the patient by the mammographers.

Mall of the North marketing manager Marí Nel said the mall is impressed and proud of how many women care about their health and came to be screened.

“We feel that prevention is very important and the well-being of our community is very close to our hearts. The clinic has received a lot of bookings and we thank everyone who came to support the clinic,” Nel said.

KSM’s other services include X-rays, sonars, CT scans, bone density tests and MRIs. Contact them on 087 055 0587 or email them on info@ks-med.co.za. Alternatively, visit their website: www. ks-med.co.za.
