Dominating win for Noordelikes
On Saturday the third team of Noordelikes Rugby Club hosted the first team of Nkowankowa Rugby Club for an encounter in the Boet Fick League.
Both sides’ defences put in a solid performance but at the end Noordelikes claimed a 19-10 victory.
Noordelikes’ tries were scored by Moshito Hlabanje, Tiaan Engelbrecht and Sias van Wyk, while flyhalf Leroy Ndlovu converted two of the tries.
Denis Needam put in a man of the match performance.

Nkowankowa chairperson and head coach, Bryan Mashigo about his team’s performance.
He said they struggled in the second half as they were overpowered by the hosts.
“The first half was a bit better as we were able to dominate the game but in the second half the players were not disciplined enough to take the game to Noordelikes. We have a structure and a system that we use at practice and I think if we stay disciplined and play the structure, we can win matches,” Mashigo added.
Noordelikes coach Lieb Coetzer said there is still a lot of work to be done in the weeks to come.
“I think we can play better and improve on our approach because in the second half I noticed quite a few unnecessary mistakes. The sense of belief is back among the players that we can do well this season, but we won’t fool ourselves, it’s going to be a tough road ahead.”
