MALL OF THE NORTH BLANKET COLLECTION

- Miranda Chauke

The Bomb Shelter Bikers Church and Mall of the North thanked shoppers for the many blanket donations.

The blanket drive took place at the entrances of the mall’s Checkers and Game stores on April 1 and was the fourth year the Bomb Shelter Bikers Church ran the blanket drive.

Tom van Vuuren, the organiser of the initiative, explained the blankets would be distributed to three shelters and a feeding scheme. He added that people who live on the streets will also benefit from the initiative. Van Vuuren told Polokwane Observer that on May 1, various biking clubs around Polokwane met up to make even more blanket donations.

“We thank Mall of the North for always helping us with the blanket drive and everyone who made donations. Thank you for opening your hearts and giving back to the community,” he said.

Mall of the North marketing manager Mari Nel thanked the shoppers for their generous blanket contributions. “During the colder season, it is important to care for our community and the less privileged residents,” she said.
