Mean effort made by the strong men
The third and final preliminary event of the Pieter Theron Strongman 2022 competition took place at Body Life Bendor on Saturday.
The day consisted of three activities which included sandbag carry, where the athletes have to carry two 50kg bags, two 60kg bags and one 80kg bag for 30m. The event was won by Mushe Rabada with a time of one minute and 35 seconds.
In the second event, participants had to overhead press a 60kg fat bar for two minutes. The event was won by Dewald van Heerden with a total of 29 repetitions completed in the allotted time.
The third event of the day was the max bench press which was won by Marco Neophytou with a mind-blowing 210kg bench press.
At the end of the day, Van Heerden and Neophytou shared first place with a total of 250 points.
The final of the competition will take place on May 28 where the ultimate winner will be chosen.
