Golfers gather to play in club day

The lush greens of the Polokwane Golf Club attracted 103 golfers to their latest club day that was played on Saturday.

A better ball format was used on the day which saw some well-executed chip, tee-off and bunker shots being played by local golf enthusiast­s.

The golfing duo of Azhar Suliman and Aadil Khan were announced as the winners of the event after they amassed 46 points.

They were followed by Bobby Collins and Joe Mackays who finished in second position with 45 points.

Long-serving members of the club Charles Mara and Randall Jooste took third position with 44 points.

Another golf day was held at the club on May 11.

Also played in a better ball format, Attie Buitendag and Wimpie Knoesen walked away as winners with 45 points.

Raymond Mushaike and Thabo Shingange came second with 45 points count-out while Papu Lukhanyiso and Pat Molepo settled for the third position with 42 points.

Raymond Pratt played the longest drive at the seventh hole, while Mmemezi Dlamini played nearest to the pin at hole 11.
