Dirk performs at Winterfees

Dirk van der Westhuizen fans can look forward to experience exper one of his electric shows on June 3 at the W Winterfees.

Dirk is no stranger to Polokwane as he already performed performe here up to 20 times in his 12-year career in the music industry.

His fir rst album was released in 2012 but he only b became famous in 2014 for his hit song, Gooi jou j suiker op my.

Dirk says he looks forward to his perfo performance at the Winterfees. “I will shoot shoo the last part of my documentary for kykNET k during the festival. I hope to capture c the whole audience so that ev everyone can be part of this special br broadcast.”

Dirk D is famous for songs like

Lu Lusmakertjie, Stoom and Sexy vir my.

His music videos feature actors like Rina Nienaber Nie and Louis van Niekerk who play Koekie and Festus in Getroud met Rugby. He also collaborates in songs with Bobby van Jaarsveld and Surina/Flooze.

“The people, love and spirit in Polokwane brings me back every time. I would love to tour with Snotkop as I think we will be able to put a big party together. I have been touring the whole county but there are towns that I have not visited yet and I would love to see them too.”

Dirk says he draws his inspiration from several things.

“Things that give me insight into who and what I want to be and mean to people. My greatest source of inspiration is God and His Word and, of course, my wonderful supporters.”

He says his biggest motivation is his parents who stay with him and his fans who look up to him. “I want to be the best I can be for all of them and be an inspiration to them.”

Apart from his CDs, Dirk also sells perfume for men and women with the name Stoom, as well as T-shits, merchandise and coffee mugs.
