Meropa Casino and Entertainment World celebrates long-serving staff
During a glamourous evening at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World, employees received recognition for long service awards.
The theme for the evening was ‘black with a hint of tradition’ and the artists complemented the theme with their music. Venda boy welcomed the guests with a passionate poem and then, dressed in red, Motlanalo gave a stellar performance. Also on stage was Maleboo with his Pedi-rap performances. The MC for the evening was the vibrant Nolodee.
Acting HOD from the Department of Economical Development, Environment and Tourism, Matodzi Rathumbu, on behalf of the MEC, Thabo Mokone said: “This important occasion symbolises the significance of loyalty at work. Your determination and efforts shown during your time at Meropa is surely a demonstration of what you have accomplish, because of the endless love you have for your jobs and the outstanding commitment by your management team.”
He continued to say: “when Meropa opened its doors 20 years ago, there were only 130 employees and today they are proud to have 375 employees, which includes service providers. Throughout the years, your abilities and efforts have assisted in making Meropa a successful organisation.”
The awards were divided into three categories: 5 years’, 10 years’ and 15 years’ service awards. The service providers also received awards for services rendered until 20 years.
Meropa’s general manager, Sammy Mokhele also received a 15-year service award for his long service. As a surprise the HOD’s who report to him created a special video for him. “This was a surprise that my staff kept from me. Thank you all. Congratulations to those staff members who received awards tonight. We appreciate your hard work and dedication. ”
