RESIDENTS SPOILT FOR SHOPPING CHOICE AT THE GREENERY

- Koketso Sekhwela

The Moolman Group, best known for establishing a range of residential and convenient shopping offerings in the city, has along with its partners, The Networth Group, held the sod-turning ceremony for a brand-new shopping centre in town last week.

Aptly named ‘The Greenery’ after an old municipal nursery that used to be on-site, the partners gathered for the ceremony, along with Polokwane Mayor John Mpe, to mark the start of this highly anticipated development, on September 20.

The centre will be strategically situated on the corner of Grobler and Thabo Mbeki streets.

The founders pride themselves on the close proximity it has to schools, guesthouses and medical facilities – making it the closest alternative for those in the area.

In a press release, the two parties appreciated the Polokwane Municipality for seeing value in how the project will benefit residents, especially through employment.

“The local municipal authorities had the vision to stimulate growth in the region by putting land out for tender for development,” the statement reads.

Moolman Group Marketing Manager, Cornel Papenfus cited the sharp rise in fuel prices as one reason shopping from this forthcoming centre would be ideal.

“Consumers prefer not to drive as far as they would have driven in previous years.”

The 23 tenants who will occupy the complex will be topped by known brands such as Checkers, Woolworths Food and Woolworths Textile, Cellar, Clicks, Meat World and West Pack Lifestyle.

Papenfus said they would be keeping the public up to date as and when developments about the brand-new centre continue.
