- Herbert Rachuene

Frederick Romijn officially vacated his position as the coach of Noordelikes Rugby Club in August.

Romijn, who won the Boet Fick league with the club, left the entity after nine years of service.

According to him, he decided in April this year to leave the club after the birth of his second child.

“I have been with the club for the past nine years and I enjoyed every part of it. Life changes when you get married and I want to spend more time with my family and my children. I am also a principal of a large school and it was difficult to juggle both respons responsibilities due to the tight schedule at tim times.

“It was not an easy decision, because I love Noordelikes and I won many titles with them. I will always have a soft spot for the club. I enjoyed the epic battles with other teams and the lessons we learned from our disappointments whenever we lost m matches. I love the club and I will alwa always be available whenever my services servic are needed. I wish my successor the best be of luck. My wish is to see the team grow and win the league again. I want to thank those who supported supporte me and the club throughout the years.”

Noordelikes Noordeli deputy president Johan van va Ravesteyn described describe Romijn as a coach with a lot of attention to detail detai and one of the best qualified qua coaches the club clu has ever had.

“He was very professional and wanted players to be disciplined at all times. We are going to miss his input and contribution to the team.”

Van Ravesteyn invited all interested potential candidates to apply for coaching positions at the club. “There are three coaching positions available and we are looking for someone who has rugby coaching experience and a level 1 coaching certificate as well as BokSmart.” Interested parties can email their respective curriculum vitae to johan.vanravesteyn@psg. co.za or pdc@boschdealer.co.za.
