JEEP CHEROKEE
The latest version of this popular mid-size SUV made its debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Among the tech highlights were an all-new, advanced 2,0-litre direct-injection inline four-cylinder engine.
In addition to that, Jeep says the new vehicle offers more interior comfort and convenience with outstanding ride characteristics. The vehicle features independent suspension front and rear, what’s described as world-class body torsional stiffness, a choice of three different engines mated to an enhanced 9-speed transmission and more than 80 safety and security features.
The Cherokee’s extensive exterior redesign complements an updated interior with satin chrome and piano black accents adding an elegant touch.
Advanced technology includes fourthgeneration Uconnect systems including Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and the choice of 7-or 8,4-inch touchscreens with pinch-to-zoom capability.
The all-new 2,0-litre direct injection turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with engine stop-start joins the 3,2-litre Pentastar V6 and 2,4-litre PZEV Multiair2 Tigershark inline four. All engine options can be mated to the nine-speed automatic transmission, Jeep says.
Off-road, the new vehicle builds on the Cherokee’s legendary prowess with enhanced versions of Jeep’s 4x4 Active Drive I, Jeep Active Drive II and Active Drive Lock. Rearaxle disconnect technology minimises energy loss in normal driving.
