Popular Mechanics (South Africa) - - GREAT NEW STUFF -

Sony is back with another flagship handset, the XZ2. The new phone finally has a 5,7-inch HDR Full HD+ display (2160 x 1080) with a 2:1 aspect ratio. Standard Sony fare of dual front-facing speakers, 3 180 mah battery, the latest Snapdragon SOC (845), IP68 water and dust resistance, 64GB storage, the latest Corning Gorilla Glass (5) and an upgraded 19 MP Motion Eye camera on the back round out the spec sheet.

At last, Sony has made some changes by shaking up its design. The company refers to the XZ2’S design as “ambient flow” which makes sense when you look at the curved back. XZ2 should feel more comfortable in hand and be more ergonomic thanks to the shrunken bezels on the front and the repositioned fingerprint scanner on the back below the camera.

What you will miss is a 3,5 mm headphone. Despite that loss, the XZ2 looks set to be on of Sony’s best flagships in years. We hope the Compact version comes to SA.
