INTERCEPT THE MESS

-

Cutting holes for downlights, or anything else that needs to go in the ceiling, is always a very messy exercise. If you have access to your roof space, save yourself the mess and just drill a pilot hole for each light. Then tape a plastic bag over the underside of each hole and drill the holes from the top using a hole saw or jigsaw. This way, you will capture all the dust and mess in the bag, and you ensure that you don’t hit any wiring or brandering in the roof. Chris van Strijp, Randburg
