Unmasking Mars: What our Fly-by will Prove
The prospect of life on Mars is fascinating. This was the story of Mariner 4, a spacecraft that was designed to take pictures of the red planet. It embarked on the first successful fly-by mission, travelling roughly 523 million km to our celestial neighbour, and sent back close-up and detailed images of the Martian surface.
