Elevate the coffee maker (I used two toolboxes). Fill the water reservoir. Do not plug it in. Now, check the underside for leaks. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, it will just be the hose clamps that need adjusting. In the case of my machine, the aluminium water pipe had a hairline crack, with water dripping freely from it.
