How a Ship is Launched

Several dramatic black and white photographs showed ships being launched, and the accompanying story told of how much preparation and planning goes into setting a new vessel free. It explained that, though most ships are launched stern-first, if the channels are too narrow, new ships are constructed parallel to the dock, and launched sideways into the water.
