MICHIGAN START-UP BOLLINGER Motors takes a retro-modern approach with their $125 000 B2. Its rectilinear design features sharp corners outside, powder-coated switches within, and a total absence of screens or driverassistance tech. Bollinger will be the only electric truck in this group to produce a bed-less cab-on-chassis version, adaptable into a box truck or tow truck.
The B2 focuses on ultra-off-road capability, combining military transport-esque portal gear hubs with a height-adjustable hydropneumatic suspension, offering a class-leading 508 mm of ground clearance. Translation: fewer instances where you’ll have to stop and turn around before an obstacle. The B2 hosts a 120 kWh battery pack, and front and rear motors that drive all four wheels – good for 458 kW/905 Nm. That powers the B2 from 0–100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and provides a 320 km range. If the Rivian is a Swiss army knife, this is a machete.
