The spindle drive on my wife’s Kenwood food processor broke recently, and although it was still under guarantee, I took a closer look and realised that it was likely to break again in the future because of the design.
I looked around for some sort of sleeve to use to reinforce the plastic.
Luckily I came across the sleeve of a car’s cigarette lighter. I cut the lighter apart and found it to be an exact fit around the broken part.
I superglued the broken plastic components together, and then pushed the sleeve over it, and it’s now stronger than the original.
