RAZER OPUS X WIRELESS HEADSET

-

IF YOU LOVE video games, you probably already love Razer, a brand well known for its gaming PCs, laptops, keyboards, controllers and more. Less expensive than the original Razer Opus (described as the ‘magnum opus of gaming audio’), the Opus X is a wireless-only lowlatency over-ear headset. Available in three colours – mercury white, quartz pink and Razer green – the design is minimalistic, with subtle branding only on the sides.

They’re lightweight and adjustable, with soft ear padding and average-sized rotatable ear cups that are comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time, which is a good thing, considering battery life is around 30 hours with active noise cancelling (ANC) turned on, and up to 40 with it off.

Although the Opus X is a headset (as opposed to just earphones), it doesn’t have a mic that sticks out. Instead, internal microphones take care of voice comms. Two standout features are the ANC technology, and Bluetooth 5.0, which provides better connectivity while consuming less power.

They’re intuitive to operate and cycle through the different modes, with all the controls located on the right cuff. Quick Attention Mode enables you to be more aware of your surroundings, useful if you need to be aware of ambient sound such as traffic.

Being Razer, of course, the Opus X has a low-latency gaming mode, delivering a more seamless media experience. (You won’t suffer from the voice and picture not matching up.) Overall, the Opus X offers a rich audio experience with ANC technology that hardly impacts the battery life. This makes for capable and high-quality everyday headphones, for both work and play.
