These lions are uniquely adapted to life in the rugged environment of northwest Namibia:
» They live approximately 2–4 years longer than savannah lions. (Males live for about 12 years, while the lifespan of females is around 13–15 years.)
» They will typically walk up to 40 km
during the night.
» They have larger territories than savannah lions, covering some
3 000–3 500 km2.
» They do not need to necessarily seek water, as they receive adequate fluids from their diet if they are eating well. » They eat approximately every five days, and consume up to 65 kg of meat in one sitting.
