CROSSCALL CORE-T4 TABLET

-

The French manufacturer of this tablet definitely knows how to do ‘rugged’. Made to last, the Crosscall Core T4 boasts a thick and durable plastic skin. With an IP68 military rating, the 8” device can be submerged in water, dropped from 1.5 m (accidentally, preferably), and withstand temperatures of –25 to 50°C. And if you happen to find yourself operating it in sub-zero temps, you’ll probably enjoy its glove-touch mode.

Inside is a long-lasting 7 000 mAh battery that should last more than two days with regular use. Standby time is a whopping 756 hours. There’s a decent 13 MP rear camera, USB-C port, headphone jack (yes, these still exist), and dual SIM and microSD card slots. It has an Android operating system and comes pre-installed with Crosscall software.

Several optional accessories are available, including an X-Car Pro mount for your vehicle and the X-Strap, which is essentially a non-slip lanyard with 360° rotating holder.

While it’s the kind of device you want with you when you’re out adventuring, it’s also well suited to ‘energetic use’ sometimes inflicted by younger children. In that regard, the impressive three-year warranty is rather reassuring, too.
