Its fashion galore as Faradh pops in

-

THIS month Fashion with Faradh focuses on catwalk chic and hautecouture, bridal glamour and dazzling debutantes.

It was International Fashion Week across the globe and the trends this season are definitely bursts of colour and sheer glamour.

What has emerged is a sexy, sultry woman who seduces with her confidence and not necessarily her bare skin.

Designers from across the globe have declared this season to be a riot of colour as Narcisco Rodriguez, Oscar de la Renta and Tory Burch used hues of deep burnt orange to eclectic red, brilliant blues, spectacular pinks and the new black this season is green! From deep emerald to olive to lime it's a greener fashion forecast.

While hairstyles and make-up were par for the course, jewellery and accessories were in keeping with the styles of the season.

Not to be outdone by their western counterparts Indian designers splurged out in rich royal fashion at India's Fashion Week with more colour than the catwalks could handle.

Celebrity designers Vineet Bahl, Anand Kabra, Anju Modi and James Ferreira, splattered the catwalks with colour fests of note, fabrics that flow and designs that were definitely inspired by the modest yet elegant sari and the Grecian look.

Empire lines, flowing chiffons and off-the shoulder gowns are the hallmark signatures this season.

As the debs season kicks off, this could be your chance to step out in style at your debs ball in the Debs Competition, where you could win a designer ball gown from the House of Farah Diba, hair styling from Hair Sensations, jewellery and accessories from Jealousy Exclusive Bags & Accessories and a chauffeur driven limousine ride to the debs.

This year the prizes are valued at over R10 000.

Last year’s winner Natasha Gordon was literally transformed from an average school girl to the belle of the ball and was spoilt to the hilt.

This year it could be you! All you have to do is enter the Debs Competition 2012. See page 5 for entry form.

Finally, as the seasons change and you rush off to swathe yourself in new threads, remember there is no such thing as being overdressed unless you look like a fabric malfunction! Until the next time, may your fashion meltdowns be a thing of the past, may your personal fashion rise to the fore and may you hit the fashion bulls-eye!
