Mrs India to be crowned

-

THE 2014 Mrs India South Africa will be crowned at Sibaya’s iZulu Theatre on Women’s Day on August 9.

Eleven finalists will compete for the title and will feature entertainment by Roshan Singh Dancers and Logasen Moodley.

A fashion show by Your Highness Boutique will complete the event.

Organiser Anusha Bisaal said: “We embrace the values of the Mrs India SA Pageant, which serves as a platform for acknowledging the contribution that married, divorced and widowed Indian women make in their community.

“It has at its core the empowerment of women. It is true that women’s achievements and contribution to their families and communities often go unnoticed, and this event gives us an opportunity to celebrate and recognise their efforts and accomplishments. We are thrilled to play host to the crowning of the new Mrs India SA, quite aptly on National Women’s Day at Sibaya.

“Indian women over the years have been shadows in their families. Their contribution has somewhat been taken for granted, their achievements unrecognised and home was their place to be. Today society should acknowledge them for their worth and achievements. Credit should be given where it’s due. It is through the Mrs India South Africa Pageant that we can share with others their achievements and vision, thereby empowering and motivating other people.

The show starts at 4pm. Bookings through Computicket. THE Miss India South Africa KZN Pageant will be held on August 2 at the Durban Jewish Club.

The KZN finalist will participate in a National Pageant, which will be held at the Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City, in Gauteng.

The winner of the national event will travel abroad to represent South Africa in the Miss India Worldwide Pageant. Tickets can be bought at the door. Call Preetha Nanhoo on 076 505 7736 or e-mail preetha.nanhoo@gmail.com.
