Go yellow and go out for Tourism Month

COMMUNITY TOURISM KwaZulu-Natal is calling on everyone in the province to show their support for Tourism Month by wearing a yellow T-shirt every Friday this month.

Ndabo Khoza, CEO for Tourism KwaZulu-Natal, encouraged people to get out and explore our beautiful province.

“Whether it’s a quick weekend break, a fun day trip, or perhaps an extended stay around Heritage Day, we want people to re-charge in KwaZulu-Natal.”

THIS Heritage Day, showbiz personalit­y Pinky Mothie, is giving back to the community.

Mothie, who has been in the entertainm­ent industry for 46 years, will host a Heritage Show at the Durban City Hall on September 24 at 2pm.

“These events will allow free entry to the community as my giving back, but all entertaine­rs will be paid for their performanc­e,” said Mothie.

DANCE BALLROOM Nite, honouring Jona Harris, an 80-year-old saxophonis­t, will take place on September 23 at the The Enchanted Garden at Clairwood Race at 7:30pm.

AN ‘Old Skool Rewind Party’ will take place at Dance Café on September 23 at 8pm.

The club, at 33 North Coast Road, Durban, promises audiences a night of old school music.

ART WITH its long-standing commitment to nurturing a culture of reading and writing poetry among the youth, Poetry Africa invites primary and high school learners to participat­e in its School Poetry Competitio­n.

There is no particular topic for the poems and they can be written in English, Zulu or Afrikaans.

Submission­s must include no more than two poems per pupil, with a maximum length of one A4 page per poem. Illegible entries will not be considered.

SAME Difference­s, a new stage dance musical, looks at cultural sameness as a means to explore diversity.

Written and directed by Angela Harvey, the show take place at the Courtyard Theatre at Durban University of Technology.
