Actresses in pink after marriage blues

-

WHEN fans ask actress Trisha for reasons for her marriage being called off, she always says she is unable to discuss the details because it involves both families.

”It’s all over now and there’s no point in talking about the past,” she said. “This too shall pass. Moreover, since family members from both the sides are involved, I cannot openly talk about the reasons for my jinxed marriage.”

However, Trisha says she still believes in the institution of marriage.

“I strongly believe in marriage, but I can’t get married for the heck of it. I need to find the right person.

“I have seen people who get married and later separate through divorce because of incompatibility. So I am in no hurry.”

Asked about what she thinks of live-in relationships, she says: “That depends on an individual’s wish and decision.”

She says there is no life without love.

“I have had my share of falling in love – it has happened thrice in my life,” she admits candidly.

Being an ardent dog lover, Trisha uses her voice for animals on the street.

She reacted sharply to the comments of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal on the issue of killing stray dogs.

“It’s cruel to kill the stray dogs. Instead, one can put them in a safe place and sterilise them. There are more than 10 street dogs roaming around near my residence. I have made arrangements to put them under safe custody,” she asserts.

Reacting quickly to a rumour on her joining a political party, Trisha says: “I have only 40 percent knowledge about politics. I wish I could understand it completely. Entering politics is not a bad idea, but this is not the right time for me. I am still active with five films and good offers are underway. I still have time to think about politics.”

If given the option to choose a heroine to work with, who would she prefer?

“I want to act with Nayanthara,” she replies. “We both share a great rapport off screen. A few people have tried to bring us together but it did not materialise. Even Venkat Prabhu, with whom I collaborated in Mankatha, keeps telling me he wants to work with me and Nayan together.”

IT CAME as a huge shock to fans and friends around the world recently when actress Lissy, pictured above, and director Priyadharshan announced their divorce.

Once again, the actress hit headlines last week, but this time for good reasons.

After a gap of 20 years, Lissy will be acting in films again with her latest Mollywood feature to be directed and produced by debutant Thilakraj.

Confirming news of Lissy’s comeback, the director was reluctant to give details of her role or the film’s title. It is rumoured that she will be play a maoist and Manoj K Jayan will play the male lead.

She has already signed on for a Tamil film.

Lissy left acting to marry director Priyadharshan 20 years ago and now, following her divorce, has decided to return to her first love, acting, and her first family: the film industry.

Fans are already rejoicing in anticipation of her return to the screen.

Lissy is a good friend and I wish her greatness and strength for standing up strongly and holding on to her career.
