Vidyut on the look out for strong role

ACTOR Vidyut Jamwal, pictured, who proved his mettle in Tamil films such as Billa 2 and Anjaan, says he’s waiting for an opportunity to play a role as powerful as this one in the AR Murugadossdirected Thuppakki.

“A lot of people kept asking me why I didn’t take up more projects after Thuppakki. Honestly, I didn’t get anything as exciting and powerful as that role. The reason I did Anjaan was because I really liked my role and the film had good content,” Vidyut told IANS.

In Thuppakki, Vidyut played a menacing leader of a sleeper cell group, and was lauded by critics and fans.

Vidyut is busy with a slew of Bollywood projects. First up is Yaara with Irrfan Khan and Shruti Haasan.

“It’s a story about characters aging from young guns to mature adults. It’s about friendship, love and betrayal,” he said.

Vidyut will soon start working on the sequel to his 2013 action film Commando.
