Religious leaders should lead clean-ups

-

“CHATSWORTH is a dump”, POST, September 2, refers.

I agree with Shaun Hammond of the Silverglen SelfHelp Committee.

Every turn you take, there’s litter, burst municipal bags and rubble. My husband and I continuously complain to the municipality. Clean-ups are done, but the next day the bags of filth are back. The municipal truck came to our residence and my husband took them to the dumping spots in Silverglen and surrounding areas. Come on, people, do you keep your homes surrounded by filth? I think not.

There are religious sites surrounded by filth. Why can’t the various priests, pastors and moulanas in charge do something? Educate people, please. Also do a clean up around your religious sites and lead the way.

On Croftdene Drive, opposite Newhaven Secondary School, someone actually dumps bedding and mattresses virtually on the roadside! Every time the area is cleaned, the filth comes back again. The stormwater drain is always jammed with litter. People renovate their houses and then dump the rubble on any vacant land!

Help. We now living in the ghettos. FED UP RESIDENT
